چکیده
Abstract Introduction Hormones released in response to nutrients the gastrointestinal (GI) tract, act as physiological signals regulate appetite and play a role feeding behaviours. Altered secretion of these ‘appetite’ hormones after those with obesity (‘Obese’), compared healthy weight (‘Lean’), may drive over-consumption energy. This study assessed whether gastric emptying rate was implicated this altered response. Methods Twenty males attended laboratory once morning an overnight fast. Volume contents (GCV) small bowel water (SBW) were using MRI (Philips 3T Ingenia dStream Anterior Coil) pre, immediately post every 30-minutes for 4-hours standard meal (2.5MJ, 78g Carbohydrate, 24g Protein, 21g Fat). Concurrently, arterialised-venous blood taken insulin, ghrelin, GLP-1 PYY evaluation. Gastric (T50) derived from GCV. Data are presented mean (SD) or standardised effect size (ηp2). Results 10 Lean [38(14)y, 24(2) kg/m2] Obese [38(13)y, 34(3)kg/m2] studied. Fasting insulin [12.5(5.8) vs. 17.6(11.3) mIU/l], Ghrelin [3.2(2.1) 2.9(0.9) ng/ml], [7.2(11.5) 13.3(2.5) pmol/l], [102.3(46.7) 88.4(32.4)pg/ml], SBW [121(96) 168(125)ml] GCV [59(33) 59(30)ml] did not differ between ‘Lean’ ‘Obese’. Response (ηp2=0.005), (ηp2=0.103), (ηp2=0.050) SBWC (ηp2=0.145) eating, T50 [148(51) 170(49) min] groups. However, postprandial greater obese (ηp2=0.286; P<0.05). Conclusion incretin hormone participants obesity. hyperinsulinemia, associated resistance, observed.

Anorexigenic effects of miglitol in concert with the alterations of gut hormone secretion and gastric emptying in healthy subjects.
Although the α-glucosidase inhibitor miglitol (MG) has been reported to have anorexigenic effects, the mechanism remains to be elucidated. The objective of this study was to explore the effects of MG on appetite in relation to concomitant changes in postprandial gut hormone levels. This randomized open-label crossover study included 20 healthy volunteers. The effects of 50 mg MG on glucagon-lik...
